For over twenty years, owner Morgan Ray worked in the film and video industry. She established a communications firm in San Francisco where she wrote and produced films for medical, financial, educational and high technology industries. As a producer, she honed her creativity and her abilities to locate unusual resources and manage unpredictable circumstances under the stress of budget and time constraints.
In 2000, she began working in real estate, buying, remodeling and selling properties but this was interrupted due to a health crisis with her mother. In 2002, she relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah to take over the care of her elderly mother and for the next three years managed her mother's health care, personal affairs and executed her estate. "I saw first hand how multiple changes can assault a person all at once: life threatening illness, disability, the need to relocate, etc. It was so overwhelming for my mother. I realized that there is a huge need for assistance in this area. My mother needed assistance and at times, so did I."
After her mother passed away, Morgan worked as Director of Operations for The Urban Garden Company, a high-end landscape design firm where she used her organizational skills to set up new operating systems that streamlined the company.
Morgan returned to California in 2008 and was determined to build a business to help people in need of assistance during life transitions. In 2009, she established SortedLives. She enjoys serving the North Bay community by providing discreet, trustworthy and caring services to help people get through times of change.
Jonna Ramey is a project manager for SortedLives. She began her career with the California State
Department of Education before starting her own communications firm. Jonna has written comprehensive training media on elder care, health issues, and childcare as well as many programs for the technology sector. She has also worked with non-profit and community-based organizations where she developed educational programs and systems to keep the organizations running smoothly.
Jonna became interested in helping people in transition after being appointed Executor and Trustee for several family members and friends. "Those experiences taught me a lot about what needs to be done and how much work is involved in concluding the business of someone's life. But, more importantly, I realized that people need help during these difficult times whether it's settling an estate, a necessary change in a living condition or recovering from illness. They often feel overwhelmed and are in no frame of mind to do all the necessary administrative and logistical work required by these situations. I can help."
